How the amount is built up, what it contains and how two agencies can be compared.
The amount
For the first two hours, agencies in the Netherlands and Flanders quote between five hundred and six hundred and fifty euro, averaging around five hundred and forty. Luxembourg runs above that. Each additional hour adds roughly one hundred and fifty euro.

What is included
Dutch agencies generally quote with VAT included and as an all in figure, so the usual elements of an appointment are not billed separately. What falls under that is set out on each agency's own rates page.
Travel costs
The only separate item, and the one that causes most disagreement afterwards. Inside the working area stated on a profile it is often nothing. Outside it the amount climbs, and a two hour drive each way is not a detail.
Comparing two agencies
Four questions expose the difference: is VAT included, does a couple surcharge apply, what does an additional hour cost, and from how many hours does a discount apply. The article on comparing rates works it through.
Paying
Cash at the start is the most common arrangement, and bank transfer is possible at most agencies with a neutral description. Paying in advance through a method that cannot be reversed is where to stop.
