The texts on this site are written by Ilse Bruggeman, a journalist in Rotterdam. She previously covered consumer law and industries where price agreements are hard to find, from funeral services to removals.

The premise is simple: this subject produces a great deal of sales material and very little explanation. Anyone wanting to know what something costs has to assemble it from conditions and scattered pages. This site puts it together.

Method

Amounts come from publicly published rates and conditions of agencies operating in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. Where agencies differ, that is stated. Nothing appears here that cannot be checked at the source.

The portrait

The portrait is a drawing, as are the fourteen portraits on the profiles. There is no photograph of any existing person on this site.
